About
ROBIN brings together expertise within the Czech Republic and internationally to explore the availability, nature and quality of community living services for people with intellectual disabilities in the Czech Republic. It would be one of the first studies to systematically map service provision for this group of people and to explore how well the service system is helping to realise Article 19 of the United Nations'Convention on the Rights of persons with disabilities. It would allow us to develop methods for, and potentially test, a minimum dataset elated to the living situation of people with disabilities, a dataset that would potentially be useful for other countries in similar situations. It would also provide a level of transparency that is currently lacking in available data. It is likely to increase accountability and create a stronger motivational context for the continued development of community living. The study will be one of very few in Europe to explore the quality of community living services in terms of the lived experiences of people with disabilities living there.
